Language Services
Sprachdienstleistungen
Written material, published and otherwise, requires responsible, competent editing and proofreading. The conscientious author, student or employee should know when to consult a professional. English is a language of precision and yet nuance: Thorrida can render your writing faultless. Rupert has twenty-five years’ experience in the field, having produced numerous schoolbooks, literary publications, book chapters, technical manuals, academic treatises, articles, legal documents, pamphlets and various other printed and published texts in the arts and sciences; error detection and protective shielding from ‘loopholes’ are particular strengths in the language of legalese. On a broader scale, our team provides swift, professional editing and proofreading services in English and German at every level of education and ability. Our expertise and experience comprise the following:
Letters of Application
Personal & Business Correspondence
Projects & Presentations (e.g., the presentation of texts and official speeches; service available in Powerpoint and Keynote)
Essays
Articles
Term Papers
Research Papers
Diploma Projects
University Theses (Bachelor, Master’s and PhD)
Treatises
Book Chapters

We approach each compositional piece individually and focus on your target values, the area of expertise and the viable framework surrounding your text (i.e., publication or submission context, format, register etc.). Our aim is to edit and proof the text, correct errors and, by request and as required, improve upon the measure of your compositional voice.
Prices are calculated based on a transparent estimation of the task at hand and start at €50 per hour. Our assessment is dependent solely on context; there are no set rates as each piece is necessarily unique, or ought to be. A 20% discount may be granted for students and undergraduates on proof of purpose and identification. It is our custom to be decent but direct in our business dealings: there are no hidden costs. In certain cases, an additional charge may be applied to the hourly rate depending on the nearness of the deadline and the intellectual or academic scope of the text; any potential increase will not be charged unless discussion has taken place and an agreement has been reached in advance.
All submissions are confidential on receipt. Privacy is assured. The text exchange for editing and proofreading services occurs via email or in person at the Vienna office. Documents are typically accepted in Microsoft Word or PDF; other formats may be discussed prior to submission. To ensure clarity and swiftness of response, we ask that you provide the following information:
Author’s name
Phone number (optional)
Title, topic and page or word count
Precise level and purpose of the text
Goals and requirements
